McDonalds and Alternative Medicine: Worst Fast Food

Health Risk Of Fast Food

Now you might be thinking, “What does McDonalds and alternative medicine have in common?” Well not much, that is for sure. But for starters, if you are eating out at fast food restaurants often, you may need an alternative medicine or therapy sooner than later.

When we’re young, fast food doesn’t seem to bother us. Some of us won’t even gain weight. But once we get older, eating this way on a consistent basis will cause numerous health issues as well as weight gain.

McDonalds and Alternative Medicine: Supersize Me!

If you haven’t seen the documentary called Supersize Me, then I absolutely recommend it for your viewing? It is about a healthy guy who only eats McDonalds three times a day for thirty days. When the thirty days are over, do you think he is still healthy?

It is a very interesting documentary about obesity in America, and what fast food can do to the body over time. It is a must see for anyone who is interested in their health and healthy eating.

Obesity now ranks as the number two cause of death related illnesses in America after tobacco use. Many major health conditions and complications, such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke, high blood pressure, cancer, gall stones, and osteoarthritis are conditions brought on because of obesity.

The great news is you can lose weight and keep it off by practicing good dietary habits and getting moderate amounts of exercise throughout the day.

McDonalds and Alternative Medicine: Fast Food And Health

We all like fast food. It tastes good. Although, I have heard some people say they don’t like the taste of fast food. Usually they are people who are already quite healthy that don’t like the flavors of fast foods.

The truth is if a person is already healthy physically, then eating at a fast food restaurant once a month won’t bother them in the least.

If you eat fast food a couple of times a week, or even once a week, which is about four to eight times a month, it will begin to cause health problems. If you like to eat at McDonalds and other fast food restaurants more than once a week, then adhering to some basic health principles may help.

Choose broiled foods over fried. Skip the French fries altogether. Drink water instead of cola drinks. When eating pizza, eat veggies instead of the meat, and order smaller entrée’s of food.

McDonalds and Alternative Medicine: Fast Food Is Addictive

Fast food is addicting! If you eat fast food often, at least four to eight times in one month, it is probably because you are craving the food.

Watch the documentary Supersize Me and see for yourself. I found an introduction to the documentary Supersize Me and I posted it at the end of this article.

What makes McDonalds food addicting is the sugar they put in the food. Sugar is a highly addictive substance. It has also been reported that they put drugs in the food to get people addicted to it. Now why on earth would they want to do that?

Well, it certainly would keep the drug companies and doctor's wallets full, now wouldn’t it? The alternative to McDonalds? Eat at home.

McDonalds and Alternative Medicine: The Alternative To McDonalds

The alternative to eating in fast food restaurants is to make your own hamburgers and french fries at home. This makes a lot more sense, although eating hamburger and fried foods twice a week is probably not a very good idea either.

The other alternative? Go ahead and eat fast food and then later suffer from bad health.

Here are some more healthy eating tips for eating hamburgers and french fries at home. Instead of eating deep fried french fries, cut up some whole potatoes into wedges, drizzle on some olive oil and sea salt, and bake for thirty minutes in a 375-degree oven.

Instead of frying your hamburger, barbeque it on the grill so most of the fat drips down into the coals. Drink juices, teas, and water instead of sugary sodas.

And here is a little food for thought. Did you know that if we don’t eat fatty fried foods, we simply wouldn’t crave them? The less we eat out in fast food restaurants, the less likely we are to even want fast food.

The healthier our bodies are the healthier we eat. A healthy body does not have sugar cravings. A healthy body thrives best on whole foods that feed the body nutrition and give it energy. That is not fast food.
