Alternative Cat Health Medicine

Alternative cat health medicine offers nutritional therapy, herbal supplements and vitamins for cats. Many of the human medical problems can be helped through proper nutrition. Holistic practitioners recommend a balanced homemade diet of whole foods. It isn’t any different for our beloved animals. Proper diet and herbal supplements can greatly improve your cat’s immune system, possibly stopping allergies, arthritis, skin disorders, infections and more.
Alternative Cat Health Medicine: Whole Foods
Beef, boiled chicken, turkey, and their organs are all good meat type foods to give to your cat. Never spice or salt any of the food you give to your cat. Cats, being very finicky, need special vitamins and minerals that keep them healthy.
Brown rice with canned salmon or any other inexpensive fish is an excellent source of whole foods to feed your cat. Alternative cat health medicine is made up of mostly meats, some vegetables and starches. You can even try giving your cat raw fruits.
Cats are mostly carnivorous and absolutely need meat in their diets. Cooked vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and yams are all great foods to give to your cat along with their meat.
I’ve also been told that cats love fresh melon and cooked corn. Corn, by the way, is something that is put into most commercially prepared cat food and has no real nutritional value.
Alternative Cat Health Medicine: Foods To Avoid
Chocolate is very toxic to both cats and dogs and it should never be given, even in the tiniest amounts. A substance called theobromine in the chocolate is what is poisonous to our pets.
Cats love milk but many cats are lactose intolerant. Giving your cat milk could give them severe diarrhea, which can trigger dehydration. Cats that are given a sound nutritional diet do not need milk because they are getting all the vitamins they need from their food.
Onions, garlic, and related root vegetables all carry a substance called N-propyl disulphide, which supposedly destroys red bloods cells in your cat. What I’m wondering is, how could you get your cat to eat onions or garlic anyway? We all know how finicky cats can be.
Also, from the same source I found that raw potatoes and green tomatoes, both members of the nightshade family, are poisonous to your cat as well. So, don’t give your cat any raw potatoes.
Alternative Cat Health Medicine: The Good, The Bad, and The Disgusting
Do you know what is in the food you are feeding your cat everyday? Commercially prepared pet foods sold in your favorite grocery store could be slowly killing your pets.
Many disgusting animal parts from animal hooves to chicken feet are found in all brands of pet foods you buy in the grocery store. They may even have road kill and diseased carcasses that can cause disease and cancer in your dog or cat. This is absolutely disgusting.
Some websites say that their pet foods are the best because theirs are made with all natural ingredients, meat being the first ingredient. (See source at the end of this article)
I also think we can prepare our own cat food while at the same time supplementing with cat vitamins and herbal supplements. It’s true, not all brands of dog and cat food are the same. This is why making your own food is the best policy. At least you know exactly what your cat is eating.
