Alternative Health Medicine Therapy
Alternative Health In Medicine Therapies
Have you ever tried an alternative Health medicine therapy? You probably have if you have used a meat tenderizer on a bee sting, baking soda paste on a poison ivy rash, or if you have ever had an herbal tea for a cold such as Echinacea or Rose Hips. There are many alternative medicine therapies available to us. Some are very well known and may be the first ones to come to mind. Examples are massage therapy and chiropractic therapy. These are fairly obvious ones. However, there are some therapies that produce healing that are not well known. Let’s take a look at some of these less common forms of alternative medicine therapies.
Alternative Health Medicine Therapy: Light therapy
What exactly is light therapy? Alternative light therapy is used to treat tired and fatigued eyes. More and more people know what having tired eyes feels like. It is usually caused from too much computer reading combined with book reading.
Your eyes tend to blur out the text on the computer and they feel droopy and tired. More serious eye conditions, such as cataracts, and muscular degeneration can also be improved through light therapy.
Dr. Jacob Lieberman recommends spending at least one hour a day outdoors, regardless of the weather. You do not need to be in direct sunlight. Being in the shade or on a screened in porch works fine.
But for this therapy to work, you should not wear sunglasses, contact lenses, or sunscreen. And that is all there is to it. Pretty simple procedure, isn’t it?
Alternative Health Medicine Therapy: Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy treats illness with water. A very popular hydrotherapy for strengthening is called water aerobics. Practitioners assert that hydrotherapy revitalizes and restores health.
Sitz baths are used for hemerhoids, PMS and menstrual problems. Soak baths are good for some skin disorders and for calming the senses. Water therapy can literally eliminate stress and help us to have a good night’s sleep.
Alternative Health Medicine Therapy: Ayurvedic Medicine
Ayurvedic Medicine is a traditional medicine of India and has been used for over 4,000 years. It centers on mind, body, and soul health by the use of diet, exercise, herbs, massage, lifestyle and body cleansing.
It is an alternative medicine system that works to heal the whole body not just one area of the body.
Ayurvedic alternative medicine treats every health disorder known to man. It starts by finding out what body type you are from the three distinct body types. These include the Vata, Pitta, and Kapha body type.
From there the patient is put on a health treatment regime, starting with detoxification and then diet, exercise, and herbs according to their particular illness.
Alternative Health Medicine Therapy: Magnet Therapy
Magnetic therapy uses biomagnets to relieve back and neck pain. Some people swear that it works while most traditional doctors say it does not. Who is right?
The theory is that biomagnets do not necessarily heal the body, but stimulates the body to heal itself. Some of the claims of magnetic therapy are:
- Restoration of cellular balance
- Healed bones and nerve tissue
- Improved circulation
- Better PH balance
- Positive hormone production
As with any treatment program, some caution may be necessary. Pregnant women, those with a pace maker or metal implants, patients with epilepsy, or infants and children should not try magnetic therapy. Some patients have reported significant improvement in their back pain from using magnetic therapy.
