Alternative In Health and Medicine
What do you think would be an alternative in health and medicine? An alternative would be something different from the normal, conventional, or common. This is not to say that alternative health isn’t normal, but that a lot of people understand the more common health practices of today. Although, more and more people are becoming wiser when it comes to their health. This article will explore a few alternatives in health care. Alternatives that may be simple to do, but are very important for the health of your mind, body and soul.
Alternative In Health And Medicine: Cleansing Versus Surgery
The first thing that comes to mind for many people when they are ailing in health or if an organ stops functioning properly are conventional medicines and surgery.
Some women have hysterectomies because they have heavy and painful periods. Both men and woman have their gallbladders removed because of gall stones getting lodged in the ducts. Overweight individuals are opting for liposuction and beautiful young people are having face lifts!
What are the alternatives? The alternative is cleansing the body and completely freeing it from the damaging toxins that have taken up residence. Cleansing the body will make you feel and look better.
Having an organ surgically removed will not make you feel that much better and definitely won’t make you look better. When we cleanse the body and begin eating right, get plenty of rest and exercise, we won’t need these surgeries.
Surgery is not natural and should never be an easy escape from bad health, unless it is absolutely necessary. In most instances of health, it is not just one area of the body that begins to fail, but the whole system.
This happens because of living an unhealthy lifestyle. Living a healthy lifestyle procures a healthy body.
Alternative In Health And Medicine: Chiropractic Care Versus Pain Pills
It’s almost never only one alternative health care practice that works. Several factors are involved when maintaining good health.
If you have a bad back with lots of pain, exercise, eating right, herbal supplements, extra magnesium and calcium intake, and chiropractic care all work together to give the individual the healing he or she needs.
Chiropractic care used in conjunction with all of the above treatments is what will restore the body back to health. Remember that pharmaceuticals only mask the symptoms, while holistic medicine regenerates the whole system restoring it to optimal health.
I have to say it again. It’s a lifestyle. We must take the needed actions to care for our health physically as well as emotionally and spiritually.
Alternative In Health And Medicine: Woman’s Alternative Health Care
Does black cohosh really work? Black cohosh has been proven to treat many of the symptoms associated with menopause.
Black cohosh calms the irritable individual, eliminates hot flashes, eases cramping and brings lighter menstruation. It’s amazing how a little bit of cohosh root grown under the dirt can relieve the symptoms of menopause, and without any side affects.
What are the side affects of conventional Hormonal Replacement Therapy? There are uterus, ovarian, and breast cancers; increase in blood clots; nausea, bloating, and fluid retention; increased risk of gallbladder disease; increase in heart attacks, and or stroke; and negative affects on mood. Is that something you want to risk?
All women young and old suffer from bouts of hormonal imbalance from time to time and eating a whole foods diet, while eliminating sugar and white flour, works great in conjunction with taking black cohosh herbal supplements.
If you suffer from bad cramping, doing about twenty to thirty sit-ups every couple of hours will help greatly. At least once your muscle soreness goes away.
Alternative In Health And Medicine: Men’s Alternative Health Care
A couple of really good herbal supplements for the common condition of enlarged prostate in men are Burdock Root and Saw Palmetto.
Both of these have been proven effective for the treatment of enlarged prostate. Enlarged prostate and benign prostatic hyperplasia affects about half the men between the ages of 40 and 59.
Burdock root is used as a diuretic and can be infused into a tea and taken orally 2 or 3 times a day. Saw Palmetto is a very popular herbal remedy for alleviating the symptoms that come with an enlarged prostate.
Of course, as with any other health condition, adequate rest, exercise, and proper diet will also help this condition greatly.
