She did not eat avocados or nuts because of their fat content – she was afraid to gain weight. Boy, did she get a health talk from me. This is total misinformation that could be detrimental to your health.
Good fats from nuts and avocados not only help you in losing weight but also are good for the immune system. If you are trying to lose weight, don’t stop eating good fats. Stop eating the bad and ugly fats that are found in processed and refined foods.

Usually, foods that are simple will be found on a low gi food list that you can choose from. In cooking for a diabetic, keeping meals simple but wholesome will benefit them and yourself the most.
