Eating Healthy At Home

Eating healthy at home is the easiest and best way to stay healthy. You’re in charge of the kitchen and the cooking, and what ingredients are used in the food. You control what kind of food you eat and when you’re going to eat it.

Staying home and eating is the ideal way to maintain weight or lose weight. Let’s take a look at some healthy eating.

Easy Healthy Recipes: Chicken Vegetable Stir Fry

Good dietary habits begin because of eating healthy at home. Shopping for wholesome foods and supplying the kitchen pantry with healthy ingredients is the smart way to eat for health.

Stir-fry chicken with veggies is a healthy, easy recipe to prepare. If you’re a vegetarian, substitute the chicken with brown rice. Eating right is a cinch when you have the right foods and you like to cook.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cut up chicken breast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1carrot stick, sliced
  • 1celery stick, sliced
  • Large handful of fresh broccoli florets
Preparation

In a wok or large frying pan, sauté the chicken in olive oil, on medium high heat, until it is not pink. Add the garlic and onion and cook for two minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for another five minutes. When the vegetables are still crisp, add ¼ cup soy sauce and turn off heat. Enjoy this meal with a dark green salad.

If you’re using brown rice instead of the chicken or other meat, cook rice according to the package directions. Stir-fry the vegetables as normal. Now you can either add the rice and soy sauce together with the vegetables or keep it on the side. It’s up to you.

Eating Healthy At Home: Losing Weight

What causes weight gain? Weight gain happens because we are eating more calories than we are burning. This means we either need to start doing something to burn off the calories or eat less. But what about eating a more natural diet. Won’t that help us to lose weight? It certainly will.

Diets don’t really work, as we have already learned. But eating a more natural diet does help to shed the pounds. Throw out the processed, denatured foods. They are full of hydrogenated oils and refined flour and sugars that make us fat. Processed foods clog the arteries, cause high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

If you only cooked with extra virgin olive oil and safflower oil, and if you rarely ate processed foods, you would notice a difference in the way you look and feel in just one week! Let’s face it. Processed food, eating at the greasy spoon, and fast food are killing us!

Eating Healthy At Home: To Heal Thyself

Did you know that the body has the ability to heal itself through food? Everyone should become more knowledgeable about nutrition and understand the difference between refined foods and natural foods. If the American diet switched over to a more natural, wholesome way of eating, we would definitely see a decline in obesity and disease.
