Eating Healthy To Lose Weight

Eating healthy to lose weight is quite easy when you know what foods to eat. As we all know, diets usually don’t work in the long run because the weight always seems to come back on. But when you stick to an eating program that works for you, the weight stays off. You just need to find the right eating program that works for you.

Eating Healthy To Lose Weight: Food Combining Program

Proper food combining is the only program that I know of that does not restrict you from any food groups. If you’re serious about losing weight, this “way of eating” will help you do it. How does food-combining work? Our bodies have a very difficult time assimilating proteins and starches combined.

These foods when combined together at a meal take eight to ten hours to fully digest in the stomach. Before the food even has a chance to digest, it begins to rot in the gut.

Improper food combining impedes the digestion and elimination cycles. Poor assimilation of food makes our bodies tired and constipated. It takes so much energy trying to digest meat combined with a starch that all we want to do after eating a poorly combined meal is take a nap.

And the food still sits in our stomachs for another twenty hours putrefying! This is what causes irritable bowl syndrome. If you have IBS syndrome, then this program is the best for your system.

The food-combining program also believes that fruits should always be eaten alone and on an empty stomach to acquire all the benefits that fruit has to offer. Also for proper assimilation of vitamins.

If you’re serious about healthy eating to lose weight, I recommend the book Fit For Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond.

Eating Healthy To Lose Weight: Adkins Diet

The Atkins diet only works for certain body types. Unlike food combining, which virtually works for everyone, regardless of body type. The Atkins diet believes in eating mostly a meat and vegetable diet. Some people do real well eating a lot of meat, while others can actually become sick because of the lack of grains in their diet.

You can try the atkins diet and see if it is for you. Listen carefully to your body while on this diet and write down everything you are eating. There are people who rave about the Atkins meat-based diet, but it is certainly not for everyone. For more information about the Atkins diet, see the source at the end of this article.

Eating Healthy To Lose Weight: Calorie Reduction Diet

Another sure-fire way to lose weight is to not eat as much. This is called dieting. If you’re not burning off what you eat through exercise, you’re probably eating too many calories. If your job consists of sitting most of the day, you don’t need to eat as many calories.

The problem with dieting is sometimes we feel deprived or restricted from foods that we love. But just practicing a few simple techniques at meal times will help you to lose weight.

Eat slowly at meal times by chewing your food well. When we eat slower we realize that we are full and we stop eating sooner. The faster we eat, the more we eat because we don’t know that our tummies are actually full.

Limit or eliminate refined sugar and processed junk foods from the diet totally. Eating healthy and losing weight can work for anyone. You just need to find the right program that works for you and stick to it.
