Eating Right Is A Great Decision

Weekly Meal Planning

Eating right is a lifestyle. This should involve regular weekly menu planning in order to have the right foods available to eat on a daily basis. I believe most people know what eating correctly means. Though their knowledge may not be perfect in terms of choosing the precise right foods to eat, they know in a general sense.

For example, they know about many foods that can potentially be harmful if eaten repetitively. Foods that can cause chronic debilitating disease in the long run such as sugary foods, or foods with a lot of fat in them. It basically boils down to aging and nutrition. If you eat poorly, you inevitably will age faster.

If they understand this, then it would stand to reason that in a general sense they would know the types of foods that would bring nourishment and increased health.

It is my opinion that sometimes we create the worst excuses for ourselves to continue eating the same unhealthy foods day in and day out. We need to face the music in our lives and confront our demons. Otherwise, the results of our careless choices will eventually catch up with us.

Rightful Eating Is Not Temporary

Eating right is not a temporary diet. You do not choose to be on it some of the time, then off it at other times. As I mentioned earlier, it is meant to be a lifestyle. Unlike a diet, you will see your weight drop in gradual increments. This will continue in this manner until your body has reached the weight it was originally meant to have.

Eating right will help you to remain healthy. Your immune system will be fortified by all the nutrients ingested from good food. With a healthy immune system, it will be much harder to get sick.

Wrongful Eating And Disease

If you are committed to wrongful eating, you are essentially throwing out the red carpet for chronic disease. When your body is young and able to fight off disease without much trouble, you may think this will not happen to you. However, this will indeed happen to you as you grow older and your body systems grow weaker.

The onset of disease and the progression of it is very individualized and will depend upon many factors. For example, I have read about cases where the beginnings of arteriosclerosis was found in people only in their teens and early twenties.

Eating Correctly Is Not Starvation

Eating right does not mean starving yourself or restricting yourself from food. It is actually the opposite. Due to the higher fiber content in healthy foods, you won’t have to eat as much to feel full and satisfied. Therefore you will be eating fewer calories while at the same time eating more vitamins, minerals and other health promoting nutrients.

A General List Of Correct Foods To Eat

The main types of foods to be eaten are all kinds of fruits and vegetables. Try to incorporate as many of these as possible. These foods are nutrient dense and are low in calories.

Along with these, replace simple carbohydrate foods with as many whole foods as possible.

Eat a variety of nuts for healthy fats. This will help decrease the triglycerides as well as the low density lipo-proteins (LDL) in your blood. These healthy fats will also help increase the high density lipo-proteins (HDL) in your blood which is good for you.

Be sure to eat a variety of beans. Beans are both a good source of fiber and protein. Eating plenty of fiber will ensure your plumbing remains in good condition.

Eating right requires a change in thinking and in habits. Make an honest effort and be persistent. You will start to feel better soon. Eat organic foods when available. The benefits you will gain will make this eating healthy lifestyle change well worth it.
