While on this mini fast, drink a tall glass of water with a squeeze of lemon or lime every hour. The citrus will give you nutrients and energy. This mini fast is great for those people who are quite healthy to begin with.
It is advisable to do a salt-water flush each morning while on a fasting diet because it helps to move the bowels and get toxins out of the body fast! A salt-water flush is done first thing upon rising.
Drink an eight-ounce glass of water with a teaspoon of sea salt and drink it down. Within fifteen minutes you will begin the elimination process.
Young children usually do not need to fast unless they are sick, and then it is advisable to give them lots of fresh fruit juices and clear broths. A child should not fast on water only.
Older people should not fast on a water fasting diet either. Always be sure they are provided with lots of fresh juices as this will still heal the body, but without the feeling of hunger.
When breaking a detoxification fasting diet, always start out with vegetable juices for a day if these weren‘t part of the fast. Then you can eat bland foods such as applesauce, rice, and dry toast for the next twenty-four hours. Whole fruits and vegetables can also be given. Finally, you can resume a regular diet with more solid foods.
