Getting Out of the Gutter

by Kyle
(Deltona, Florida)

Recently, I have realized I eat far too much junk food. It was like, I knew I shouldn't have such horrible, horrible fast food and what not. But I seemingly could not help myself. Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell, all were such a big part of my life.

So one day, I simply said that's it! I went to the store, and purchased my meals for the week. I have stuck with this ever since.

My breakfast will now consist of a small portion of Egg's, and some fresh Strawberries. Sometimes, if I am feeling adventurous, I may make a strawberry shake in the blender with milk, ice, strawberries, and sometimes Banana. This gets me off to a good start in the morning, and gives me some much needed vitamins and protein.

For Lunch, I typically have either a salad, fresh vegetables, or a small sandwich. Typically, I make my sandwiches with very basic ingredients. Slice of cheese, little ham, lettuce, and my personal favorite, salad dressing (Low fat, of course).

Vegetables I enjoy eating include Carrots, Green Beans, Peas, Corn, Celery, and Lettuce. One way I like to cook them is to throw them all together and steamcook. Makes a delicious mixed bowl of goodies.

Lastly, for dinner, I tend to eat a nice hearty meal. Oftentimes, a grilled chicken breast, or some Flounder. I almost always have some vegetables on the side. This makes for a nice meal to end the day off. On other days, I may even make a homemade vegetable soup. Bean soup is a favorite, personally!
