Healthy Dinner Recipes: Chicken Soup
Chicken soup is one of those soul-warming meals that make us feel good all over. It is a snap to make and tastes so good, especially on a blistery, cold winter day. Chicken broth is a good meal to give someone who is suffering from a cold or the flu. It will help him or her to regain energy because it is quite nutritious.
Chicken Soup Ingredients
- 1 Whole chicken
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery sticks, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 12 oz pastina (tiny pasta)
- Parmesan cheese
- Sea salt and pepper taste
Preparation
In a big soup pot, add chicken and vegetables, and enough water to completely cover the chicken. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat and simmer for 1-½ hours. Add sea salt and pepper to taste. Cook the pastina according to package directions and leave it on the side. You can add a little bit of olive oil to the pastina so it won’t stick together.
After the chicken is cooked, take it out of the pot carefully so it does not fall apart, and let cool. Once the chicken is cooled you can take the chicken off the bone and add to the pot. Ladle a scoop of pastina into your bowel and a big scoop of chicken soup. Add some freshly grated Parmesan cheese and enjoy this delicious, wholesome soup.
Healthy Eating Diet: Cooking With Whole Foods
No matter what you decide to cook for dinner, start it from scratch by using all natural ingredients. This is the healthiest way to eat and maintain ideal weight. Canned chicken soup is not the same thing as homemade chicken noodle soup. Homemade chicken soup offers the body valuable vitamins and minerals.
Have you ever noticed how with canned soup the broth tastes like the tin can, the noodles are mushy, and there is hardly any chicken in it! It’s certainly not healthy. Home cooking is the way to go if you want to really, really enjoy eating what you create and prepare in the kitchen. Try out the above healthy dinner recipes and enjoy!
