Quiz: Healthy Eating Habit: Natural Immune System Boosters

Nutrition And Disease Prevention

Do you have a healthy eating habit? Some of us may think we eat pretty well, but there are certain signals that our body gives off letting us know that maybe, just maybe, our eating habits are not that healthy after all. Let’s find out.

  1. 1. Do you wake up in the morning feeling well rested?
  2. 2. Do you have energy and focus during the whole day?
  3. 3. Do you catch the common cold or flu bug often?
  4. 4. Are you overweight by 20 pounds?
If you answered, “yes” to the first two questions and “no” to the last two questions, then you do have good eating habits. If you answered differently, it could mean that something is not right with your diet or perhaps you need to detoxify your system.

A Healthy Eating Habit Should Make You Feel Rested Upon Rising In The Morning

When you wake up in the morning you should not feel tired or sick anywhere in the body. You should feel well rested and ready to conquer your day.

Do you fell groggy upon rising, or have any physical ailments such as, nausea, constipation, headache, etc? We should feel good in the morning because we have not eaten for eight hours. That gives our digestive system a break.

Getting enough sleep is important to overall health and daily productivity. If a person eats a big meal too late at night, then goes to bed on a full stomach, the body is still digesting that food. This digestion process could interfere with having a good nights sleep.

Eating sugary foods at night also causes unnecessary snoring and nightmares, both, which interfere with good sleep patterns. The best snack to eat before bed is something light and good for the body, such as fruit, popcorn, dried fruit, nuts, and granola with milk.

A Healthy Eating Habit Will Give You Lots Of Energy Throughout The Day

If you have lots of energy throughout the whole day, it means you are eating great, and most likely combining your food groups properly. When we mix a starch with a protein it overworks the digestive system and that’s why we feel tired after eating lunch. It also causes weight gain.

The best way to stay energized throughout the day is to eat fruit for breakfast, a whole grain such as oatmeal for a midday snack, and a properly combined lunch, such as fish, or chicken with a side of veggies and a salad. No bread, rice, pasta, or potatoes.

A Healthy Eating Habit Will Keep Your Immune System Strong

What keeps your immune system strong is nutrition. The body needs a certain amount of nutrition to keep it healthy. Whole foods provide that nutrition. Processed foods do not.

If you catch the common cold easily, then your body is not getting enough vitamins from the food you eat, to defend itself from colds and flu’s. It means your resistance level is low.

To raise resistance to viruses and infections you need to eat more whole grains, fish, beans, legumes, vegetables and fruits in their natural state. If you do this, you will be on your way towards better nutrition.

A Healthy Eating Habit Will Keep Weight Off

The best way to regulate weight is to eat naturally. Losing weight or staying at an ideal weight is not about dieting. On the contrary, it is about eating the right foods. Foods in their natural, whole state do not cause weight gain.

Eating two avocados a day will not make you gain weight because avocado fat is a natural fat, which burns off through activity. Stop counting calories - eat naturally and exercise instead.

The best way, and the only way to lose weight effectively is to stop eating refined and processed foods. The next best way, coupled with eating right, is to properly combine food groups.
