Healthy Eating Tips For Kids: Health Tips For Kids

Healthy Foods For Children

Practicing healthy eating tips for kids is a great idea. I know that many kids like to wake up to a can of soda pop in the morning for breakfast. Imagine going to the dentist every couple of years and having another tooth pulled because of decay.

Drinking cola drinks and eating sugary cereals can and will wreck havoc on a kids emotional health. Parents need to understand the benefits to their child’s health now before bad health catches up to them. It is important for healthy kids to have a few healthy eating tips.

Healthy Eating Tips For Kids: Break The Soda Pop Habit

Soda pop can do a lot of damage to a child’s health. The acid wears away the enamel on the teeth and causes cavities. The acid also burns holes in your stomach, which is referred to as an ulcer. Soda pop is very addicting. Each can of cola has about ten teaspoons of sugar.

When some kids eat sugar, their body rejects it right away. The symptoms may be emotional and attention issues, hypoglycemia or worse, diabetes. When a child has these symptoms it means that his or her body is in a toxic state.

When your children crave soda pop, try giving them carbonated water with a twist of lime or lemon instead. Or give them natural, organic juice to drink.

Breaking the soda pop addiction can be difficult at first, but well worth the health of your child. Try limiting the amount of soda pop by one can each day, until they are not craving the sugar or caffeine effects anymore.

Healthy Eating Tips For Kids: Healthy Snacks

When your kids reach for the snacks, what do they usually eat? Candy bars, potato chips, pop tarts, cookies, soda pop, etc?

These things all taste real good and they are virtually easy to fix. All you have to do is open a package. However, they aren’t healthy, especially if they are eating like this every day. In the long run these snacks will cause disease.

Parents should have healthy snacks that are already prepared. This way the child can remove them from out of the refrigerator or just grab on the run.

Some examples are a mixed fruit bowl, dried fruit and nut mix, energy bars, and granola made with raw honey of course. All of these snacks will give your children energy and a happy outlook because they are loaded with nutrition.

Healthy Eating Tips For Kids: Encouragement

Many of the major health problems today with kids are attention disorders, obesity, allergies, diabetes, asthma, and emotional issues. Every single one of these health issues can be managed and treated through a proper diet and exercise regimen.

A parent’s healthy encouragement is what motivates children to eating right. To be a good encourager, you need to be eating healthy foods yourself. Offer your children healthy choices. Have healthy choices in the home and eat healthy choices yourself. This is the best encouragement a parent can offer.

Healthy Eating Tips For Kids: Indulge Once In Awhile

We shouldn’t deprive our children of ice cream or cookies once in a while. “Once in awhile” is not what produces unhealthy kids. Everyday unhealthy food choices are what make kids unhealthy.

If kids eat a good daily diet of whole, organic foods every day, there shouldn’t be a problem with having a slice of Aunt Ann’s double-decker chocolate cake. Or having some ice cream on the weekend.

If parents are too strict with health and do not ever allow their kids to have any sweets, they are more apt to rebel from healthy eating altogether. Parents need to explain to their children the importance of eating good foods every day because it is a way of life.

Kids need to know that when one eats healthy, they will be healthy. That means their body can handle a slice of cake or a bowl of ice cream once in awhile. Not every day, but once in awhile.
