Tasty and Healthy Recipes: Free Healthy Meal Recipes

Healthy Easy Recipes

Healthy recipes begin with healthy foods. Healthy foods are those that feed the body, and not just the appetite. Just because a food tastes good, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be good for you.

Below are a few tasty healthy recipes for you to try out.

Healthy Recipes Made With Bees Honey

Bee’s honey is an excellent alternative to refined sugars. And these little tasty no bakes squares are a real crowd pleaser. Try them out with your family. They are great for breakfast in the morning or for snacks in between meal.

They are packed with protein and other vitamins. You can optionally use chopped nuts and dried fruit to make it even better for your health, but they are good without it too.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup real butter
  • 1-½ cups bees’ honey
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 3 cups Instant oats
  • ½ cup seeds or chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1-cup dried fruit – raisins, figs, apricots, dates, etc (optional)
Preparation

Cream together all ingredients, except oats in a large pot on medium heat. After all ingredients are mixed well add oatmeal and nuts and dried fruit, if using.

Pour thick batter into a 6 by 9 inch slightly buttered pan, patting down to fill the whole pan. Freeze in the freezer for 1 hour. Cut into squares and enjoy. Yummy!

Healthy Recipes Made With Whole Grains

If you want healthy recipes then substitute whole grain flours for your refined white flours in recipes. Try these flours instead of refined flour, whole-wheat, soy, oat, millet, rice, barley, and rye flours. Remember, white flour products are those that are bad for your health.

Many people complain about all kinds of health problems when they eat wheat and other refined carbohydrates that are made from wheat. These issues range from gluten intolerance to obesity.

But when people say they are gluten intolerant with wheat, they are not referring to “whole” wheat. They are referring to refined wheat products – and there is nothing whole about that.

Society is confused – they need to become more informed about the difference between whole wheat and just wheat. However, because the body may need to detoxify from refined wheat products it may not handle even whole wheat in its pure and natural form.

What I’m saying is, if someone’s body is rejecting something that is natural, then it is time for a cleanse.

Homemade Cranberry Raisin Bread

This cranberry bread is absolutely delicious. Now this is a healthy recipe. Why not try it for the holidays?

Ingredients for 2 loaves

  • 1-tablespoon yeast
  • 8 or 9 cups of whole-wheat flour
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1-cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1-cup raisins
  • 1- teaspoon sea salt
  • 2-cups warm water
  • ½ cup olive oil

Preparation

In a large bowl combine the yeast, honey, and warm water. When the yeast becomes bubbly, add your sea salt, oil, cranberries and raisins. Stir in half the flour, stirring well.

Pour bread batter onto a clean countertop and knead bread with your hands using the rest of the flour, adding a little at a time.

Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, adding more flour until bread is not sticky anymore. Put bread back into the bowl with a little oil and let it rise for one hour. After the bread has risen, oil two bread pans thoroughly.

Divide dough into two parts and work each part into a little loaf. Let bread rise again for one hour. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 25 minutes. Oh, so delicious. Get out the butter (not margarine) and honey and enjoy!
