My Guidlines For Successfully Eating Healthy

I used to work at a Supper Club and I ate fried food nearly every night. I weighed about 175 pounds before I decided I should find a way to loose some of that weight.
I started eating healthier things like Fresh Fruits and Vegetables. By the end, I had found a few good guidelines to follow and lost nearly 45 pounds. Here are my top three guidelines for living a healthier lifestyle.
1) If you don’t know how to cook, learn how. I stopped eating things form the freezer section. I found that they are not only high in sodium but they have all kinds of preservatives that are not good for your body. Even the ones that claim to be good for people who eat healthy are still not healthy. Things like lunchmeats and soups are also high in sodium.
I love to cook. So I started to make dinner for myself every single night. I incorporated tons of fresh fruits, veggies and meats. I found that fresh garlic is a great flavor bringer and if you use it, you don’t need so much salt.
2) Lay off dessert. Don’t completely take sweets out of your diet. If you do, you are more likely to cave in and your whole Healthy Eating Plan will just go out of the window. Opt for healthier desserts if you insist on having dessert. Try a piece of fruit.
3) All of those little snacks add up. Every time you munch on little snacks the calories add up. Before you know it, you just ate a ton of food. The key to eating healthy is also making Snack time healthier too. I switched to eating things like Jello, cottage cheese, grapes or fruit when I wanted to snack.
And lastly….I can say this with experience, DO NOT GIVE UP. If you have a day where you don’t eat healthy just get back on track by eating healthier the next day!
